Pricing & how it works
How does GatesHelp work?
Choose a garage door, torsion spring, opener or repair online at gateshelp.com or at any GatesHelp self-service kiosk. Every product and service starts with a free, no-obligation on-site assessment: a certified local technician confirms what you need and quotes before any work begins.
How much does a garage door, spring or opener cost?
Every product shows its starting price after 15% off parts, with installation as its own line. The final price is set after the technician confirms door size and spring weight. Current prices are on the home page and at every kiosk.
Is installation included in the price?
No. The door or spring price and the installation fee show as two separate line items in your cart, so you always know exactly what is parts and what is labor.
Is there a service call fee?
No. Every product and repair starts with a free, no-obligation on-site assessment.
Can I cancel an order?
Yes. Every order can be cancelled within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. Call (888) 650-4451 with your order number, or see the Cancellation Policy.
Service areas
What areas do you serve?
GatesHelp operates 115 self-service kiosks across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut and Washington, DC, each covering roughly a 15-mile radius. Check the Locations page to find the closest one.
Is a GatesHelp kiosk a service counter?
No. Each location is a self-service touchscreen kiosk hosted inside a local business. Installations and repairs are done at your address by a certified local technician.
What's included
What does the free on-site assessment include?
A certified local technician inspects the door, opener and related hardware, identifies the likely cause of the issue, walks you through the fix, and gives you a firm quote before any work starts. The visit never obligates you to buy anything.
Do you ship or deliver parts?
No. GatesHelp does not ship products. Springs and openers can be picked up free at any GatesHelp kiosk, whether you order on the website or at the kiosk, or professionally installed at your address. Garage doors are professionally installed.
Booking
How do I book service?
Pick your product or repair on the home page, choose a date and time for your free on-site assessment, and a technician confirms the visit. You can also call (888) 650-4451.
How fast can someone come out?
Standard repairs are scheduled for the date and time window you choose. For urgent issues, such as a door stuck open, select Emergency Repair for priority scheduling.
Repairs & replacement
Is it safe to keep using my garage door while I wait for a repair?
Generally no if a spring, cable or off-track door is involved. Stop using the door and call instead. Opener, sensor or remote issues are usually less urgent, but treat the door carefully until a technician has looked at it.
My door won't fully close, or reverses on its own. What is happening?
This is usually the safety sensors near the bottom of the track: misaligned, dirty or blocked. Select Sensor Repair when you request service.
My door is making a loud grinding or banging noise. What is likely wrong?
This is often worn rollers or a bent or misaligned track. Continued use can make it worse and wear other parts faster, so get it looked at soon.
When should I replace my garage door instead of repairing it?
If the door is old, keeps having recurring issues, has structural panel damage, or repeated repair costs are approaching the cost of a new door, replacement usually makes more sense long-term.
Springs & openers
How do I know which spring cycle rating I need?
Rule of thumb: 7 ft or taller steel doors, or heavy daily use, call for the Clopay EZ-Set Torsion (80K) or DURA-LIFT Heavy-Duty (100K). Standard residential use is well covered by the Prime-Line Standard Torsion (50K).
What if my opener is the problem, not the door?
Opener Repair and Remote Programming are both common requests. Select the one that matches your issue, or Something Else if you are not sure. New Chamberlain, Genie and Craftsman openers are also available.
Warranty
Is the work covered by a warranty?
Yes. Every professional installation (door, spring or opener) includes a 1-year labor warranty. Parts are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
