Gates Help Garage Door Service LLC ("GatesHelp," "we," "us," "our") operates the website at gateshelp.com for garage door, spring and opener sales, installation, and repair services. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
When you place an order, book a repair or a free on-site assessment, ask about an order or a refund, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, service address, the details of the job (such as the part, the date and time you choose, or what needs fixing), and payment information. Payment card details are processed directly by our payment provider, Stripe — we never see or store your full card number.
When you call us, the call may be recorded, as our phone greeting says. If you use the service area finder or ask Hinge, the helper on our homepage, about a ZIP code or town, the ZIP code or town you type is looked up with Zippopotam.us to find the nearest service area. Nothing else you type to Hinge is sent anywhere or stored.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide only for legitimate business purposes directly related to serving you:
- Processing and fulfilling your order
- Billing and payment processing
- Issuing refunds when applicable
- Contacting you about your order, appointment, or service visit
- Customer outreach related to your account or service history (e.g. maintenance reminders)
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Information is used internally for the purposes above only.
Services we use
A few services run parts of GatesHelp for us and handle information only to do that: Stripe (payments), Google (our email, the site's fonts, and the Google Maps and YouTube content on some pages), our phone service provider (calls and voicemail), and our web host. Each handles information under its own privacy policy.
Payment processing
All payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. Your card details are transmitted directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers. Please refer to Stripe's privacy policy for details on how they handle payment data.
Cookies
Our website uses your browser's local storage only to remember that you've seen our cookie notice. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics or visitor tracking. Pages that show a Google map load it from Google, and our YouTube video loads from Google only when you press play; Google may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy.
Data retention
We retain order and service records for as long as reasonably necessary for billing, warranty, and legal/tax record-keeping purposes.
Your choices
You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you, to request a correction, or to request deletion of your information where we're not otherwise required to retain it (e.g. for tax records).
